Fiesta-IoT semantic data validator open for beta test !

Category : News

Semantic interoperability is argued as key value enabler for IoT according to [1], and a shared ontology based approach is the core for the development and exploitation of the technology. Main SDOs (Standards Developing Organization) in IoT, such as W3C, oneM2M, ETSI, are leading the research and development on this direction and have published their reference ontologies.
This semantic data validator is developed within Fiesta-IoT project which aims to breaks the barriers between technology and data silos by applying the semantic technology. It checks the correctness of the semantic data with respect to the RDF data model, to the data representation format and to the chosen reference ontologies.

Videos from the first FIESTA-IoT Training Workshops

Category : News

To support the winners of the first open calls, FIESTA-IoT hosted two training workshops. We have made the presentations available from the two separate instances, the workshop presented to the joining experimenters, and the workshop presented to the joining testbeds:

These presentations cover a range of topics concerning how to use the tools and services provided by the FIESTA-IoT platform.

FIESTA-IoT @ IoT Week 2017

FIESTA-IoT will be hosting a session at IoT Week entitled: FIESTA-IoT. Experimentation as a Service over Interoperable IoT Testbeds

The session will be presenting the latest results from the FIESTA-IoT project. It will mainly focus on the description of the IoT experimentation that is enabled by the FIESTA-IoT Platform not only from a technical and practical perspective but also through the presentation of the 3rd FIESTA-IoT Open Call for Experimentation that is currently opened and welcoming proposals till the 15th of June.

Please join us to find out more about FIESTA-IoT!

When: Thursday Jun 08 16:15 PM to 17:15 PM (1 hour)
Where: International Conference Centre of Geneva (CICG) – Room 14

Agenda:

16:15 – 16:20: Welcome and presentation of the session (Elias Tragos – NUIG-INSIGHT)

16.20 – 16.50: Overview of the EaaS tools for experimentation on top of the FIESTA-IoT platform (Luis Sanchez – UniCan)

Second Open Call Results

Category : News

FIESTA-IoT announces the winners of funding from the second open call. This open call provided funding for IoT testbeds to join and integrate with the FIESTA-IoT platform. Proposals were received from across Europe.

After evaluation from independent experts; the three winning proposals are:

Testbed Short description Deployed devices
Foundation for Research and Technology Helas (GR): The FINE Testbed Smart city, smart building and home automation testbed. 40 outdoor environmental monitoring and power consumption/link quality sensors. 6 indoor/automation sensors/actuators.
Waterford Institute of Technology – TSSG (IE): The RealDC Testbed Live data Centre testbed for monitoring DC operations. 100 sensors for power consumption and weather station. Historical data sets.
TERA S.r.l (IT): The Tera4Agri Testbed Outdoor testbed for Smart Agriculture. Tens of outdoor environmental monitoring sensors for soil and tree monitoring.

The FIESTA-IoT project thanks all proposers for their efforts. We congratulate the 3 proposers that have been selected for funding!
